Made-to-Order Playlists - 11/23/2008

(Here's another playlist from my project to gain good karma so I can continue to mentally slay the bus cretins. More to follow - I need all the help I can get; there's sooo many bus cretins.)

"5 David Bowie songs that Lou Reed should do covers of", submitted by Chad Nevett

"This is Not America"
"Fashion" (and Lou, please phrase 'the' better than "thuh-uh")
"Blue Jean"
"Breaking Glass"

I knew "Station to Station" was going to be there.

Damn right. It IS my favourite Bowie song after all--but it's also there because I think Reed could do some wonderful things with it.

I do find it funny that Bowie is known for covering Reed, but I can't think of hearing about Reed covering Bowie ever. It's as if not only Bowie thinks Reed is beyond him/is the influencer, Reed thinks so as well. To cover Bowie would be a step back or something. (Then again, I don't hear of Reed doing too many covers PERIOD, so maybe he's just not a covers guy.)
